10 Things You’ll be Surprised to Know About Me

Hi friends! Creating a blog has been a long time coming, so I figured this would be a good start for you to get to know a bit about me.

1. My full name is Ugochinyere but a lot of people can’t pronounce it, so I go by Ugochi for short. I love my name, especially when someone takes the time to say it correctly. I go by other nicknames by loved ones such as: Gucci girl, Gucci, Gucch, and Ms. Gogo.

2. I’m a middle child. I have 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters. They are my lifeline and role models!

3. I grew up scared of dogs but lived with one my last year of grad school and fell in love! Shortly after, I got my first dog when I was 26 years old. Her name is Zola and I can’t imagine life without her. She often goes on thrift trips with me and sometimes plays dress up in my thrift finds!

4. I used to not like wearing rings because i’d always lose them. Now I love them and i’m going strong with one i’ve acquired from my mom for 8 years now!

5. I’m not allergic to anything.

6. I’m an extrovert but I also love being by myself.

7. I don’t have any tattoos. I have an extremely low pain tolerance which has deterred me from wanting to get one.

8. I love doing style challenges by looking at fashion trends on Pinterest and finding them in thrift stores.

9. I graduated in may 2019 with my M.A. in Speech and language pathology. Since then, I’ve worked full time as a school-based SLP and feel very blessed to love the field I work in.

10. I grew up in a single parent household, raised by my mommy, the thrift queen herself. I watched her proudly thrift and prosper throughout my childhood and I’ve continued to do the same, in her honor.
